Death Pit is an American crossover-thrash metal band from Mecosta, Michigan. The band was formed in 2011 from the ashes of the thrash metal band Fatal Demise.
From the band's Facebook page: "Death Pit is a thrash/crossover thrash band made up of three friends from Mecosta, Michigan: Earl Gilmore on bass and vocals, Matt Blodgett as lead guitar/backup vocals, and T.J. D'Hoest on rhythm guitar/back up vocals. Earl and T.J. have been long time friends since the beginning of there middle school years. It wasn't until years later when they met Matt and soon later Earl and Matt started a band "Fatal Demise" Matt. They had a good run playing shows under the name but then they soon parted ways due to creative differences with their drummer and other personal reasons. Soon after splitting up Earl and Matt went off on their own to start their own Thrash/Crossover band DEATH PIT
