DEATH VOMIT was one of the first Russian death metal acts who managed to gain certain status in Russia and some recognition abroad.
Musically, this album is pure death metal, sometimes played at mid-tempo, sometimes turning into blast-beating inferno. The sound is enjoyably thick, while musicianship also seems to be highly impressive, especially when it comes to Goblin, the drummer. Lyrics also definitely appear of interest due to the fact they’re written in good English, being more on a philosophical side, in the same time striking as grim and somewhat sorrowful.
Furthermore, the lyrical canvas somehow reminds me of early SEPULTURA (“Schizophrenia”-era) a bit. Generally speaking, this could be a death metal classic if DEATH VOMIT were a foreign band… however, they emerged from Russia, consequently due to various circumstances they failed to achieve what they truly deserved.
