Der Weg einer Freiheit (meaning The Way of Freedom) is a German black metal act. The band formed in 2008, originally as a two-piece consisting of T.J. (vocals) and N.K. (guitars, bass, drum programming). They released their self-titled debut album in 2009. After adding Christian Bass to the line-up (drums) Der Weg einer Freiheit reissued their debut with real drum tracks.
The band's next release was the Agonie EP in 2011, followed by a second full-length, Unstille, in 2012. Between the two releases Tobias Schuler was added to the line-up as the band's new drummer.
Following T.J.'s exit from the band in 2012, N.K. took over the lead vocal duties of Der Weg einer Freiheit. The line-up was also increased to a four-piece with Giuliano Barbieri added as a full-time bassist. With the new line-up their third full-length album, Stellar, was released in 2015.
