Divine Embrace was a death metal band from Germany with progressive influences. Early in 1995 Divine Embrace was founded as a project by musicians from local bands. As time passed, the project became the main focus of its members. Although some demos were recorded, internal problems slowed down the band’s progress.
After introducing a new drummer in the summer of 1998 the band succeeded in practising continuously. Early in 1999 the band put one week aside to record their very first complete album. Their Purpose was to make progressive Death Metal, but without deeply complex song structures while retaining a reasonable amount of variety. Late in January 2000, drummer Jörg Burkhardt left the band and was replaced by Frank Hoffmeister who had already played in the band previously. Since 2001 the project has been put on hold.
