Dreariness is a band from Rome Italy that mixes depressive black metal, post metal and shoegaze. Dreariness was founded in 2012 by May (Deathly Hollow), who was joined initially by Gris (Misere Nobis and Torpor (Misere Nobis), initially as session members. After a disgareement the band split into two Dreariness bands, one based in Mexico and one in Italy.
Dreariness comprises Gris (Misere Nobis) on guitar, bass and keyboards, Torpor (Misere Nobis) on drums, and Tenebra on vocals (who became part of the group after May Deathly Hollow's departure). Featuring sprawling melancholic passages, a suffocating atmosphere and violently anguished female vocals, their first album, My Mind Is Too Weak To Forget, was released in January 2013 by Nostalgia Productions.
