Elderwind is a Russian atmospheric black metal/ambient act founded by Persy Vyacheslav in 2009, who plays most of the group's instruments. The only member until 2012, when the group line-up was completed by drummer Andrey Bykov and vocalist Alexandr Sinyugin. The debut album Волшебство живой природы (A.K.A. The Magic of Nature) was then released.
In 2014 Elderwind took part on the split Through the Ocean to the Stars with Sweden's Lustre, though this time playing ambient music.
Alexandr Sinyugin parted ways with Elderwind in 2016.
