Eta Carinae is a progressive metal band from Gothenburg in Sweden founded in 2009.
Eta Carinae was formed by drummer David Pergament, also of Chugger, who realised that the only way to play the music he was inspired by was to create a band of his own. The 2011 EP, Handmade by a Machine, was followed in 2013 by a second EP, Turn Based Communication. Both releases focussed on social and environmental themses.
Eta Carinae's music is influenced by extreme metal, progressive rock, jazz, film sound tracks and video game music.
