Eternity was a black metal band from Athens, Greece. Formed in 1998 as Nuntiem Desperatio, the band changed its name to The Darkest Hour in 2000, and then again to Eternity in 2000.
It all started in November of 1998 when a band named Nuntiem Desperatio was created by Mephisto (vocals) and Alexander (Guitar), along with Yngve (drums) and Agis (guitar). The idea was to perform a mix of folk music and black metal. After rehearsing for about a year, 5-6 songs were created and sounded like something between black metal and melodic death metal. The direction that the band took was not what they wanted, so they decided to slow down for a while to think things over. As a result, the band was separated. Mephisto, Alexander and Yngve, started looking for new members in order to start something different. Two musicians were found in July 2000: Abysmo (guitar, keyboards)
