Ethereal is a gothic, progressive, symphonic black metal band from Bogotá in Columbia.
Ethereal was created in 1996 to create music different from what was found in Columbia. Originally comprising Sander Bermúdez (drums), Reinel Bermúdez (bass), Byron Perez (guitar), Alex Carranza (guitar) and Oscar Orozco (vocals). Cesar Cortes on keyboards would join temporarily, leave, rejoin and then leave again. Reinel Bermudez would take on keyboards, with Daniel Paz replacing him on bass. John Cadena took over the vocals before being joined by Ana Maria Botero. Later, Natalia Fuentes would join on flute with Maritza Pacheco coming in on violin. Sandy Villafane and Ivonne Cubides would also join to create a choral quartet.
Ethereal released their first EP in 1998 and have since released three full length albums.
