Ethereal is a melodic death metal band from the Netherlands. Formed in 2005 by Michiel Quakernaat (guitars) and Uri Dijk (synths), Ethereal released their debut EP, Prologue in 2008. After adding Bjorn van der Ploeg (bass, vocals) and Eelco van der Meer (drums) to its line-up early 2009, the band appeared at various festivals and started to attract attention from the music press. In February 2011 the band released their second EP, Lunacy Falls.
Ethereal describe their music as, “combining the melody of Scandinavian death with some prog, a bit of math and the brutal force of American metal”.
