Of course, there had to be a NWoBHM band called Excalibur, and this band from Tyne and Wear were not the first UK rock band to assume that most British of monikers - or, indeed, the last, by quite a long way.
Although they formed at the very peak of the movement, in 1981, they did not release any material until 1984. They kept going and releasing material for an impressive 10 years or so.
