First Reign is a progressive death metal band from Abbotsford in British Columbia formed in 2004.
Hailing from the frozen north of Canada, First Reign plays a mix of melodic death metal similar to the Gothenburg melodeath movement, progressive power metal much like fellow countrymen Into Eternity, and technical thrash, likened to Darkane and other such bands.
The band, comprised of viking-by-blood/lead vocalist Dallas Erickson, shredders/screamers Ryan Macdonald and Chris Holtz, bassist Russ O’Shea, and drummer Sean Lang, has remained this line-up solidly since it’s inception in 2004.
