Foghat formed after three members left the UK blues rock/boogie band, Savoy Brown in 1970, vocalist/guitarist "Lonesome Dave" Peverett, Tony Stevens on bass and drummer Roger Earl and then adding slide guitarist Rod Price and released thier self-titled debut in 1972, produced by Dave Edmunds and the single,"I Just Want To Make Love To You" recieved heavy airplay. It was the 1975 album, 'Fool For The City' that spawned the huge FM hit, "Slow Ride" along with the title track that the band garnered a huge audience and thier live album sold 2,000,000 copies.
Album sales begun to waiver in the late '70's and in 1984 Lonesome Dave Peverett left the band, however the band kept together recording and touring with numerous line up changes until 1993 when producer Rick Ruben convinced the original line up to reunite. After six years being together, the band folded after Rod Price left.
