Founded by guitarists Johnny and Isabel VIQUEZ, FRACTAL SUN is a Progressive Metal band from San Jose, Costa Rica. In 2016, they began work recruiting the rest of their band bringing in Hellen QUIOROS on vocals, Said ARAYA on bass and Mauricio BARRANTES on drums.
Their debut album Turmoil was released in 2020, a concept album about a scientist who steals the spaceship that was the key to save all humanity. The bands influences are ANIMALS AS LEADERS, PLINI, Allan HOLDWORTH, RUSH, HAKEN, TESSERACT, PORCUPINE TREE, DREAM THEATER, TOOL, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, THE CONTORTIONIST and NIGHTWISH among others.
