Futurian is a progressive metal band from Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
Formed according to their Facebook site on 20th October 1912, Futurian is a collaboration between guitarists Austin Chappell and Brennan Coombs.
Futurian’s brand of progressive math metal has been influenced by a long list of artists from Dillinger Escape Plan, Cloudkicker, Periphery and Devin Townsend to Abba, DJ Jazzy Jeff, the soundtrack to Mulan and public shower singing at the YMCA.
Futurian released their debut EP, Coffee Stains, in March “1913” followed shortly afterwards by their Caveman Vs Spaceman EP in September.
