Gales of Avalon is a Blackened Death metal band from Calgary, AB Canada that also combines elements of melodic and classic metal to achieve their crushing yet memorable sound. The band came together in late 2007 and played their first of many live shows in May of 2008. They released their first self titled EP on August 9th 2008 featuring the songs Cold Dark Valleys, Black Ocean/Black Island, Blasphemy Incarnate, Led Astray, and Final Gale. The EP received good reviews from the metal-observer.com 7.5/10 and metalnetradio.com also with a 7.5/10. Gales of Avalon has been featured on many standard and on line radio stations and shows including CJSW’s Mega Watt Mayhem, CBC radio 3’s Full Metal Podcast 2, Maximum Threshold, Doom Radio, and Vinland Radio to name a few.
