Ginko Balboa is a groove metal band from Orlando in Florida, formed in 2014 out of the remains of Machine Gun Funk.
Influences include Gojira, Lamb of God and The Dillinger Escape Plan.
"Jessie, Mike and Brandon of Machine Gun Funk ended their band when their singer, Jared, decided to leave for New York in 2013. They invited Matt who was previously the singer from Cethkyn to join the band. After a few practices, they came up with the band name Ginko Balboa and history has been made. Since the start of the band, they invited Mark Sturgis to join the band as a 2nd guitar player. With the lineup established, the songs are starting to take fold."
