Hellium is a deathcore band from Blida in Algeria, formed in 2005.

Hellium, an Algerian deathcore band, was formed by Mad (Vocals), Xor (Guitar) and Smook (Drums) at the end of 2005. They are all three from a region where metal is not recognized at all but considered a fascist and satanic musical genre. It was not until later that Head (Bass) joined the group which then turned the sound to a more rhythmic and brutal metalcore.
Following Head joining, Hellium was able to start its rehearsals, beginning with covers of Lamb Of God, Devildriver or Gutworm tracks. The band has been restricted by access to facilities (few recording studios and little material put at their disposal).
