Originally formed as a hard rock band in March 1979 by keyboardist Iliya Kunchev, Импулс (Impulse) lasted until 1991 before splitting up.
Impulse reformed briefly in 1995 before splitting up again the next year. A second reformation happened in 2012.
The band's music turned towards heavy metal in the late 80's.
