Jesuit was a metallic hardcore band from the Virginia Beach area, formed in 1995.
As well as hardcore punk, Jesuit also drew from mathcore and sludge metal.
The lineup included, among others, Nate Newton (of Converge, Old Man Gloom, Doomriders fame) and Brian Benoit (who later joined The Dillinger Escape Plan).
The band had several releases on Hydrahead and Reservoir records and toured with bands such as Botch before calling it a day in 1999.
In 2011 Jesuit reformed to play a couple of gigs in New York and Virginia.
