Jewy Sabatay was a Serbian progressive, alternative metal band whose music was characterised by heavy doom metal riffs alongside post-punk and psychedelic influences. The band consisted of Velibor Nikolic (guitars/vocals), Vladimir Dimitrijevic (bass) and Slobodan Stanisic (drums). They formed in 2000, and started playing live shows in 2001, when they also self-released their first demo album, "Rare And Not Optimistic". In 2000 they started recording their first studio album, "Andjelin Osmeh", and released it in 2003 on Belgradian label ITMM. Jewy Sabatay started to gain cult status in Serbia, partly because of their radical and edgy shows, and partly because of banned video clips showing their singer completely naked. The band released their first live album "Void Experience" in 2005 from concert that took place in Akademija, Belgrade. Their next album "Nihilist"(2007), showed them in the heaviest light to date.
