LAC PLACIDE was a progressive metal band from Paris, France.
Lac Placide was formed in October of 1997 by Archiviste Demurger (bass) and Sénéchal Morin (guitars) who were joined by Rebouteux (drums) and Bourgmestre Ville (keyboards). A few weeks later Sa Majesté Roy and Rôdeur Renaud joined the band on vocals.
During the summer of 2000, the band recorded their first three track demo, Welcome (You're Not). Dissatisfied with studio experiences the band decided to self produce their debut album, Away, released in 2003.
In April of 2005, they recorded an EP, Freedom from Their Hands. Two of the EP tracks would appear on the band’s 2006 album, Closer. In May of 2007, Sa Majesté Roy left the band and was replaced by L'Apicultrice in November, just before the band would be wound up.
