Lash Out was a metallic hardcore punk band from Molde in Norway, formed in 1992 and lasting until 1999.
Lash Out rose from a local skateboarding, surfing and hardcore punk rock subculture and scene called Kult Alt (Kulturelt Alternativ). In the early 1990s, when Norwegian Black Metal was on the rise, the band developed its own style of metallic hardcore, combining dark metal and classic hardcore.
As a four piece band, they got together in 1992 and recorded their first demo tape. This earned them a deal with the German label Stormstrike Records(SSR). The The Darkest Hour EP was their first release on SSR.
Later as Lash Out’s sound evolved into a heavier and more melodic direction the band turned into a five piece, releasing the now cult EP Worn Path. The first album recording was What Absence Yields.
In 1999 the band fell apart and some members formed a new band Thunderbolt.
