Lions Breed was a German heavy metal band that served as the precursor to the power/speed/heavy metal band Scanner. They were active between 1982 - 1986 before becoming Scanner and changing their style.
Lions Breed notably released the album Damn the Night in 1985, which in effect is the true debut album of Scanner.
