Livit was a progressive metal / hard rock band from Braunschweig, Germany. The band was formed in 1989 with Tomaes Grove (vocals), Andy 'Sheilo' Scheil (guitar), Tom Lauchemund (Keyboards), Josh Wintermeyer (Bass) and Jürgen Schüler (Drums). Livit’s sound was somewhere between Queensryche, Dream Theater and Pink Floyd.
Livit released two albums: ''Just in Time'' (1992) and ''Unspoken'' (1995). The first album has more traditional song structures with a hard rock style and neo-progressive influences. On Unspoken, Livit produced a concept album touching the sensitive topic of a young man suffering from psychicological disorder and his painful way through life until he can’t stand it any more. The music is more mainstream progressive metal than found on the Just In Time album.
Livit split up in 1998.
