MATRAZ is a progressive metal band from Santiago, Chile. Matraz's music blends the heaviness and technical sophistication of progressive metal bands like Dream Theater and Fates Warning with fusion and symphonic prog. They started out as a foursome in the late 90's, released an album in 2001 and then hired an impressive female vocalist for a second album in 2004. Both Matraz albums, however, are primarily instrumental.
