Mayadome was a Swedish progressive metal band from Uppsala.
The band was formed in 1995, originally under the name Mellow Poetry.

Their music is song-oriented with an abundance of time changes trying to go beyond the creation of wonderful melodies, big orchestrations, and complex rhythm patterns. There are some Dream Theater influences, Yes, or Rush in their use of rhythm, but it's nonetheless impressive. They aren't a DT clone, just a prog metal band in that style. Mayadome are the perfect complement to Dream Theater, Digital Ruin, Shadow Gallery, and Pain Of Salvation.
Their first album Paranormal Activity has style changes executed with astonishing musicianship. Very impressive album Near Life Experience is their last offering and is a very successful piece of traditional progressive metal with complicated song structures, crunchy riffs and excellent keyboards.
