MEMORIES LAB is a progressive metal band from Messina, Italy. Memories Lab was formed by Claudio La Rosa (drums) and Giovanni Girone (vocals) with the idea of forming a progressive metal band in the style of Pain of Salvation, Opeth, and Spock's Beard but also incorporating the form of the Italian progressive scene of the '70s. The band completed their line-up with Giuseppe Ruggeri (bass), Frank Martino (guitar) and Antonello Bruto (keyboards, synthesizer). The band began writing compositions and self produced a three track demo "Crossing the Soul Gate" in 2002. The band played live in Sicily and headlined the Iron Fest '03.
In 2004, they released their second EP "The Treasure." Martino and Bruto leave the band after a few live performances. In 2006, Gianluca "Filtro" Rizzo (guitar) joined the band and they recorded a five track EP "Empathy." In 2007, Francesco "Terence" Forestiere (keyboards, synthesizers) also joined the band
