MERGING FLARE is a power metal band from Kajaani, Finland. The story of Merging Flare can practically be seen having started in 1993 when two schoolmates, guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen and drummer Henri Pyy, started to play heavy rock music together in the footsteps of AC/DC. The guys went on with varying set-ups and their musical style changed more towards metal. This phase included a melodic metal band Disease that - alongside Heikkinen and Pyy - consisted of guitarist Joni Hattuniemi and bassist Harri Leinonen and later also vocalist Matias Palm. Disease then came to its end in 2000.
In 2001 a new band Merging Flare was born and it consisted of the same members as Disease in its last days. The band started heavy training with new songs and released a web single "Star Odyssey" getting some nice feedback on it. A full demo saw daylight in 2003. However it suffered
