METRUM was formed in 2009. Their progressive elements in the rhythm section, combined with a dark unique voice and grooving guitar riffs make them stand out. The musicians' roots are diverse, coming from the USA, Austria and Germany.
Human rights, environmental and socio-political issues are not just empty phrases in Metrum's lyrics. The band's great interest in international politics and history have shaped their critical reflectiveness of the world. Their lyrics are profoundly critical of the system, and they are aware that they are a part of what they criticize. Metrum genuinely wants to make people think and ignite a desire for change in society.
