Morose is an English grindcore band from London, formed in 1997.

Morose was started in the winter of 1997 by Tony Barnes on guitar and vocals and Piers Alexander on drums. Originally a sludge / noise band the line-up was completed by Alex Palmer and Steve Vern on guitars and Paul Collins on Bass. Steve and Paul soon left. Steve went on to play bass in Gundog whilst Paul went on to do vocals in Kilkus and subsequently JunkDNA. This fledgling line-up was eventually completed by Chris Thackerbury on Bass. This fourpiece played only one show to a Partisan hometown crowd.
The music had now progressed and the blastbeat had begun to dominate.
Following some drunken boasts at Ozzfest Martin Ives joined on vocals. After a few gigs some tension was beginning to show, Al and then Chris left in quick succesion. Al has gone on to play in Scalplock and
