Morrigan is a German pagan black metal/viking metal act. They originally went by the name Mayhemic Truth between 1992 - 2000, producing a number of demo releases and the Cythraw EP in 1995. After changing their name to Morrigan they released their debut studio album Plague, Waste and Death in 2001.
The band was for most of its history a duo consisting of Beliar (vocals, guitars, bass) and Balor (drums). Baldur was a second guitarist between 2002-2003, playing on the album Celts only.
Morrigan split in 2010 having released six studio albums. A seventh, Werwolfs, Witches and Demons, had been recorded in the 2009/2010 period but was never released.
The band reformed in 2012 and were active again until 2013, which saw the release of comeback album Diananns Whisper, where they adopted more of a viking metal sound akin to classic Bathory.
