Mort was a German metalcore band from Recklinghausen in North Rhine-Westphalia, formed in 2001.
Within a few months the band started to perform their energy-loaded live sets country-wide. They shared the stage with bands like Converge, Caliban, Heaven Shall Burn, Maroon, Walls Of Jericho, As We Fight, Morda Deadlock, Born From Pain, Undying and many more.
In 2003 Mort recorded itsfirst grindcore, hardcore and metal influenced MCD, produced at the "Lauter Studios" in Muenster / NRW. The MCD earned excellent reviews and was sold out within a few months.
By and by Mort developed its own style andrecorded a new Demo CD at the "Soundfabrik" Hagen / NRW supervised by Martin Werner. The CD became a blast and bigger gigs were the answer. With this growing success Florian Roch joined the band on guitar as Goran Stipcic quitted 2005.
This "fresh wind" stepped up the development of Mort towards a more street based image.
