Muerte Por Mil Cortes is a Spanish death metal band.
Muerte Por Mil Cortes, or in English, Death by a thousand cuts, was a form of Chinese torture used until the early twentieth century to execute death sentences, now abandoned. The practice was to dismember the defendant, who previously was drugged with opium and tied to a pole. The body pieces were deposited with the defendant, who was kept alive until the removal of the pituitary and subsequent death.
Muerte Por Mil Cortes group began in late 2007 when guitarists Elfo (ex • The hidden project) and Julián (The sand collector, ex • The hidden project, ex • Nahrayan) decided to contact a drummer friend of Mula (Murcia) called Jevi (ex • Virtual, ex • Ansium).
