Negative Standards was a blackened crust punk / sludge metal band from Oakland in California, active between 2009 and 2017.
Formed in 2009, Negative Standards’ first release was an EP, I.II.III.IV.V, in 2010. This preceded their 2012 full-length debut, VI.VII.VIII.IX.X.XI. Breaking the numeric theme somewhat was a split EP released in 2013 with the sludge / doom band Whitehorse.
