NOCTIS were a progressive doom / death metal band from Perth, Australia. The band consisted of members from bands such as Vespers Descent, CHAOS Divine, Pathogen, Voyager and Psychonaut. Originally, the band was formed around the brothers Daniel and Ben Mazzarol on guitars and drums, but the latter was replaced by Leonard Barker. The band also enlisted Alex Canion on bass and vocals, and Simone Dow on guitars.
The band played a melodic type of melancholic metal similar to Katatonia and Mourning Beloveth, their songs feature lots of clean interludes and dynamics reminiscent of Opeth. They released their debut EP For Future's Past in 2007 followed by their full-length, Silent Atonement in 2010. In 2011, Noctis split-up.
