ONGO is a heavy progressive, psychedelic, jamming rock band from Puerto Rico.
Formed in 1999, Ongo went through a few changes in their lineup. In 2001 they released their debut album, Aquí No Pasa Nada. A video for the song El Día Del Desertor was made to help promote the album.
In 2002 Ongo played at the Anfiteatro Tito Puente as opening act for the nu metal band Puya. Next, the band traveled to Miami to play at the SummerSlam Festival in which they shared the stage alongside Tereso, Ohms, Junkie Rush, Señor Frogs, Churchill's and Tobacco's Road, with a next stop at New York before finally returning to Puerto Rico to start working on their next album.
In 2004 Ongo released their second full length album, Negra. By September of the same year the band started their Negra Tour in support of their release in which they brought along
