Origin: 1770–80; orig. uncert.
Forged in the steel city of Sheffield in 2004, Opinicus are hard gigging metal band with roots firmly in death and thrash, however, ever the ones to twist the genres, Opinicus also tip the hat towards the layering of harmonic tones of classic rock.
Combining influences ranging from Carcass to Unearth, Strapping Young Lad to Opeth, through Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy. Opinicus really are the sum of their parts, showing the diverse musicality of its five members.
The last year has been a combination of writing, fused with local gigging. Two recent line- up changes have brought renewed vigor and direction to the fore. Opinicus are now back fuller, larger, louder and ready to assault your senses.
