Orchid is a mathcore / heavy prog band from Bangalore in India, formed in 2011.
In 2016, Orchid released its debut EP, with Rolling Stone India calling it “one of the best cult classics of 2016” and “one of the most intriguing metal releases of the year.” Orchid’s sophomore effort and full-length album ‘Miasma’ will be out on January 2019.
Influences include Converge, Botch, Dillinger Escape Plan, Atheist, Dysrhythmia, Behold the Arctopus, Blotted Science, Martyr, Spastic Ink, Gorguts, Cardiacs, Watchtower, Behold... The Arctopus!, Frank Zappa and Ron Jarzombek.
