Pathless Land were formed March of 2010, amidst the backdrop of Progressive Metal stalwarts, Tempest Eternal. Originally envisioned as a “spacey metal shred with a touch of prog” side project by guitarist Matt “Mattowarrior” Davinci, it became a beast all its own when Matt decided to make the jump from Tempest into the great unknown. Musical and other differences fueled the split, and Matt embarked on the beginngs of what would be a huge undertaking into many different stylings of heavy metal music with diverse influences. Inspired by many one man bands which over the years have run the gamut from Bathory to many of Devin Townsend’s projects, Matt decided to record an album/demo to make his first move alone on the metal map.
