Primacy is a groove/alternative metal band from West Auckland, New Zealand. Formed in 2014, the band is made up of former members of The Blacklight Configuration, Overhaile and Heathen Eyes.
The band exceeded all expectations, and even garnered mainstream media attention with the release of their debut EP "Failure and Sacrifice", which hit number 13 on the New Zealand Album charts just days after its release in June 2016.
