PROPHECY WITHIN is a progressive rock/metal band from Cork, Ireland, formed in 2008 by drummer Barry Wilson and guitarist Ben Deloughry, both from the defunct metal band Forbidden Son, and bassist Hugh Deloughry (brother of the guitarist). They started as an instrumental act covering songs from Metallica, Rush, Mastodon and Dream Theater.
In September 2009 they recorded their debut album "Weight of the World", which was released as an EP in May 2010. In 2010 the band also contributed a track, Cloudburst, to the "Honor Thy Drummer - A Tribute to Mike Portnoy" triple album.
