R.I.P. was a thrash metal band from Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico. Formed in 1978 as a hard rock band in the mould of Status Quo and ZZ Top, the band was originally known as TheYogui Band.
In 1989 they appeared as R.I.P. on a compilation album, Metalmania. The style of the band at this point was power metal and two albums , Placer Insano and Las Damas de Salem were to appear in 1990 and 1992. In 1996, now a thrash metal band, R.I.P. released their album, Demencia Extrema. Some time after their third album, the band decided to call it a day and split up.
