Sea Hags was a glam metal band from San Francisco, California. The band was formed in 1985 by vocalist Ron Yocom and bass player Chris Schlosshardt, and got it's name from their nickname for groupies.
During the early days of the band, Yocom and Schlosshardt often worked two day jobs to support the band. Between 1985 and 1987, when the band was signed by Chrysalis Records, Sea Hags played with a variety of different bands, including Dead Kennedys, Motörhead, The Ramones, and The Cramps.
Sea Hags were held in high esteem in San Francisco, to the extent Kirk Hammett co-produced their first demo, and Guns n' Roses producer Mike Clink produced the band's only album.
The self-titled album was released in 1989, and saw the band tour the UK with the Georgia Satellites. However, Sea Hags imploded on tour, prompting the band's manager to say "There's only so far you can get with
