Serpent's Knight was a US heavy/power metal band that existed between 1979 and 1985, briefly reuniting in 1989. They are notable for being the first band of the late Warrel Dane (1961-2017), who went on to become the vocalist for the band's Sanctuary and Nevermore. Serpent's Knight released a sole studio album, Released from the Crypt, in 1983.
Though not considered a direct precursor to Sanctuary, Warrel Dane being the only member in common, Serpent's Knight also notably covered White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane, as did Sanctuary.
