SILENT LAPSE is an atmospheric Progressive Metal band from Westphalia US. The band was formed by brothers Mitchell and Taylor Feldpausch, who started writing music together before recruiting additional members Scott Martin and Matt Schrauben.
The band lists Pink Floyd, Metallica, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, and Dream Theater as their main influences. Their songs are very melodic and with a clear thematic structure.
In 2009 the debut Birthright was released.
Scott Martin briefly left the band in August of 2009, but rejoined a few months later.
