Sin-Eater were an American death metal act formed in Akron, Ohio, in 1990. They only ever released one demo, but were notable in having two basses in addition to two guitars, drums and vocals.
They also served as informant in musicologist Harris M. Berger's ethnomusicological study of phenomenology in the glam metal, death metal and jazz scenes of Cleveland/Akron and are thus featured in his 1999 book " Metal, Rock, and Jazz: Perception and the Phenomenology of Musical Experience".
After their split-up, ex-members of Sin-Eater would join Blood Coven, Scum Lord, Arachnaphilia, and Somnus. Blood Coven and Arachnaphilia are still active on the death metal scene.
