The Awakening was a US heavy metal band from Cleveland in Ohio, formed in 1995.
The Awakening was a continuation of Axemaster, who changed their name in 1991. The Awakening continued activity until 1995, notably releasing the album Invictus in their final year.
Years later, in 2008, guitarist Joe Sims formed Inner Terror, who later reverted to the Axemaster moniker.
