THE BRAINWASH MACHINE is a progressive metal band formed in Bogota, Colombia in 2011. It all started when Jorge ARANGO (keyboards) proposed starting a progressive rock project while at Javeriana University. Using the concept ideas of his cousin and friend Diego Vargas, the project finally delivers the album 'Modern Day Sisyphus'. The album was released in November 2011. The album’s concept focuses around man’s duality in reason and emotion and takes influence from art, science, and philosophy.
The band in 2012, consisted of Jorge Arango (Keyboards/Piano), Alvaro Cote (Guitar), Diego Ante (Guitar), Manuel Henao (Bass guitar), Andrés Ramirez (Lead vocals) and Christian Gaitan (Drums).
