The Rivalry was an Australian mathcore / metalcore band from Adelaide in South Australia.
Influences included 4dead, Converge and The Number 12 Looks Like You. The band's sound was an intense and chaotic blend of metal and grind/hardcore.
The Rivalry decided that, having varying interests and reasons, to split up after their 07/08 Japan tour. Many of the band members decided to pursue side projects, the most notable being Robotosaurus.
The Rivalry disbanded in March 2008.
